Surf Lombok

Join us on a surf holiday to Lombok, Indonesia for fantastic waves suited to all abilities and tranquil accommodation in a lush setting overlooking turquoise bays and white sand beaches.

Our camp is in the southeast of the island, located at the top of a headland overlooking one of Lombok’s largest and most beautiful bays. Surrounded by tobacco and rice fields, our camp creates the perfect environment necessary to relax and chill when you’re not enjoying one of the many surf breaks situated on our doorstep.

Our Dates

Saturday 17th November to Saturday 1st December 2018

Surf

The set-up of the bay provides the perfect playground for all levels of surfer. The closest surf break to the camp is a fun sandbar, ideal for beginner surfers wanting to learn the basics. As you move along the headland and out towards the Indian Ocean, there are several more breaks that are ideal for intermediate and more advanced surfers. The further out of the bay you go, accessible by a short boat ride, the more the waves challenge your surfing. As your skills develop under the guidance of our coaches, these breaks will offer you the opportunity to hopefully ride some of the most perfect waves of your life. The cost includes boat trips every day to nearby waves for those that want to explore the variety of surf.

The Location

Although the area is relatively under-developed, our accommodation is less than an hour from Lombok’s new international airport. A mixture of traditional Indonesian style bungalows and modern suites are all built around an inviting pool and restaurant. Set within lush green gardens, our base will be the perfect place to unwind and relax in between surfing with our two highly experienced coaches. See our short film here.

Other Activities

If surfing and sunbathing around the pool isn’t enough, there are plenty of other activities on offer. There are many Sasak handicraft markets in surrounding villages, excellent snorkelling and stand up paddle-boarding in the bay as well as waterfalls that can be reached with a trek through the jungle. If that isn’t enough, there are plenty of empty white sand beaches to explore and if you are feeling a bit more adventurous then you can trek to Danu Segora Danak, a beautiful lake near the top of the volcano.

Flights

Our recommended flights are with Garuda Indonesia from London Heathrow via Jakarta. The flight cost fluctuates so check for up-to-date rates but should be from £450 to £550. There is no charge for surfboard carriage up to 23 kgs and 300 cms (total dimensions).

Equipment

One of the great aspects of this trip is that our recommended airline is a ‘surfboard friendly’ carrier so there is no charge for transporting your board to Lombok. If you would rather hire a board on arrival, we can help arrange this for you. Local hire charges are approximately £10 daily. Of course, there is no need for a wetsuit, it’s warm enough for board-shorts and swimwear. Don’t forget your rash vest for sun protection and 50+ sunscreen.

Booking

To book Surf Lombok, please contact Surf South West by phone or e-mail. We require a completed surf holiday booking form and a deposit of £50 per person, the balance payable 8 weeks prior to departure. For more information on our recommended flights please contact us.

As beguiling, beach-blessed and downright blissful as its near neighbour Bali, Lombok is now much more than just a surfers' paradise.
