Surf South West have been offering surf lessons and learn-to-surf courses at Croyde Bay since 1996. We’re proud to be the original Croyde surf school, located just steps away from the beach and conveniently situated in the beach car park at Moor Lane in Croyde.
We’re also proud to be a gold award-winning surf school and Surfing England Training Centre of Excellence. Then means we can provide a wide variety of lesson choices including SEN and adaptive surf packages. Whether your eight or eighty, choose the package that suits you best and we'll ensure you get the maximum from your surf experience with us.
We offer surf sessions for beginners, intermediate and advanced surfers, all of whom will receive expert instruction throughout their lesson. Our specialist instructors include elite performance coaches and highly trained SEN and adaptive surf instructors. You can have complete confidence in their professionalism and know your safety is always their number one priority.
Our surf lessons are suitable for beginners, improvers and elite sportsmen/women. If you are serious about improving your surf performance, you might be interested in our Beau Performance sessions which include videography and surf analysis. Private lessons can also be arranged if you wanted our instructors all to yourself – click here for more info. And of course, we’re delighted to provide group surf sessions for corporate groups, stag/hen groups, schools, charities and adaptive surfing clubs.
During your lesson, you’ll also have the use of our surf centre facilities which includes male/female changing rooms and a safe storage area. The surf school also has a reception area, indoor and outdoor seating areas and a toilet facility.
Whichever package you choose, the surf school is where your lesson begins and where you’ll meet our instructors. Our prices also include surfboard and wetsuit hire making them super competitive. We’ll kit you out and then head to the beach to start your surfing experience.
Your surf lesson begins with 15 to 20 minutes of on land coaching. We also teach you how to stay safe in the water and the basics of surfing etiquette. We then move into the waves where the fun truly begins. We’ll provide you with the supportive environment you need to create a fantastic surfing memory, one that you can share with family, friends and colleagues for years to come.
